Woven Whispers, 2025
Woven Whispers is a project grown from a deep fascination of the author in the folktales of prechristian Slavic territories, as well as concern for the habitat that humans have been continuously disrupting in the age of their dominance. In the book, the stories of folk beasts are told from the point of view of said beasts, representing how they might react to their rapidly changing environment. The illustrations in the book have been made using cyanotype emulsion on paper, exposed later with plant compositions, emphasising the nature of the beasts’ world. This book serves as a gentle remainder on the current state of the environment and how dangerous it is for humans to continue down this path.
